Baby Black Blood Python Overview
Our Baby Black Blood Python for sale also known as a short-tailed python is a colorful captive-raised baby that will grow into a beautiful medium-sized python. It hails from Sumatra. Our farm-bred and captive-bred baby black blood pythons for sale are feeding and readily handled. They are accustomed to weekly feedings with frozen-thawed rodents. Black Blood Python Care
Black blood python care is similar to ball python care in many aspects. We recommend a small enclosure at first while your baby snake gets accustomed to its new surroundings. We always recommend under tank heater instead of heat lamps to keep the humidity as high as possible. Use a wide sturdy water bowl and a covering of damp moss in at least one third of the enclosure. Blood pythons are burrowing snakes and will feel more comfortable hiding. Therefore use a cover of sphagnum moss or a low flat hide spot to accomplish this.
Hatchlings are offered fuzzy rats off tongs, and we increase the size of feeder rodents they receive as the snakes grow. Juveniles graduate quickly onto rat pups, and by the time they move up into the next tub size in our rack systems, our juvies are easily eating weaned rats or even small rats.
On average, an adult blood python will require an enclosure from 36”L x 12”W (average adult) to 48″L x 24″W (the largest of blood pythons). Hatchling and juvenile blood pythons are often housed in smaller, more secure-feeling, enclosures while they grow into adults.
