Pueblan Milk Snake Overview
Each pueblan milk snake is a beautiful work of art and feeding weekly. Pueblan milk snakes are a tri-color colubrid. Colubrid is a name used to describe any milk or king snake that is made of three distinct and separate bands of color. These healthy baby milk snakes are a combination of straw yellow, bright red and jet black colors. Baby pueblan milk snakes are ten to twelve inches at birth. They grow quickly with each shed. Adult pueblan milk snakes can get to a very reasonable size of thirty or more inches in length.
Milk snakes can be housed in a ten gallon terrarium at birth with a small heat pad, a small hide spot and access to clean water. Every baby pueblan milk snake for sale in our care is fed a diet of both live and frozen pinkie mice. Milk snakes reach an adult size after twenty four to thirty months of growth. As adults they can be fed a diet of rodents consisting of adult mice or baby rats. Keeping baby or adult colubrids communally is never a good idea. If you plan on having more than one pueblan milk snake, we recommend individual housing for your reptile pet. Our captive bred and born baby pueblan milk snakes for sale are kept individually and never kept in groups.
Housing
Pueblan milk snakes come from a warm environment so they struggle with the cold and humidity of the UK. To insulate against both of these factors we recommend keeping the snake in a wooden vivarium. Due to the temperature gradient required we would normally select an enclosure a minimum of 3 x 2 x 2ft with large vents and glass sliding front doors.
All of this ventilation should ensure that heat and humidity is lost from one side of the enclosure to the other while keeping the basking spot itself at a consistent temperature.
Pueblan milk snakes can be a little shy when they are young. We still use the full size enclosure to make sure that the correct temperature gradient is in place but we will provide more decorations to begin with.
